HOGWARTS CARNIVALE Duration: 2 in-game weeks, 1 real life month Starting: In-game January 24th, real-life February 15th Classes will be suspended for one-week because of the extensive injuries and trauma. This is overall a contest of houses, but inter-house activity will be incorporated. Rides will be free for the first day, but will require tickets for every other day. Each student will be given 500 tickets on the first day and can also earn more from the games/stalls or finding scavenger hunt items. The first 500 will not be counted towards the house total, but thereafter students can spend their winnings on rides, games, or towards their house total. They will be colour coded (and charmed to reject transfiguation) as to ensure honesty. 1st PLACE: Will receive a weekend trip to ________ at the end of the two weeks (Fri Feb 4th - Sun Feb 6th). It is a village similar to Hogsmeade, though few students have likely been there. Staff and aurors will accompany the students, and permission will be obtained from parents. Those without permission will join the 2nd place house. 2nd PLACE: Will receive an outdoor party on February 5th, as well as unlimited access to games, prizes, food, shows, and houses. A three-ring circus will also be brought for their entertainment on the evening of Sunday February 6th, and they will be allowed to invite members from all houses. 3rd & 4th PLACE: Will receive a party on February 5th. Students will celebrate in their common rooms, and will be provided with snacks and refreshments. There will be no curfew, but staff will be guarding from outside to ensure no students wander off, and no strangers get in. These will be private parties for the two respective houses and their students. Games will cost five tickets each. Games which have targets will be based on odds, there will be very few "large" amounts, and if students win '5' tickets, they will not count towards their house's total. Horse Races INTER-HOUSE PARTNERS* Events will be judged through overall activity, including journals and threads dedicated to these tasks. - Friday Jan 28th: Partners will be announced. Students will have dinner with their partner and given time to create strategies. After dinner each set of partners will be given twenty minutes in the "planetarium" created specifically for this, and must come up with as many real constellations as they can. Each will be worth five tickets. - Saturday Jan 29th: Each pair will be given a time. At that time, they will begin the "fun house", and their times will be scored. Lowest times will correspond to highest points. Fun houses are expected to take anywhere from one to fours house to navigate. - Sunday Jan 30th: Partners will be placed into groups/heats, and will work together at a "Horse Race". Prize amounts will be tripled from the usual game, and will not cost tickets. Partners will compete in three separate races. - Partners will also participate in four heats of jousting. They will wear padding, stand on top of platform, and use foam jousts. Partners will work together to defeat the opposing pair. The last partner (whether it's a pair or solo) standing in the platform wins. Each win is worth 20 tickets. FINAL TASK - Housemates must work together to complete an obstacle course. Learned spells, quick thinking, and team work will all be necessary to complete the course. Lowest time corresponds with the most points. - Winner will be determined by a vote. Each player gets ONE vote. - Worth 100 tickets. CLOSING CEREMONIES - Correspond to prizes. - On Sunday February 6th, a three-ring circus will be brought to Hogwarts. The 2nd place team will have the best seats, followed by their guests. Students who were not "invited" will still attend, but will be sitting at the back. |
